International Student Office


The International Student Office has a general remit for providing specialist support to students who study at Cambridge from outside the UK and contributing more widely to international student matters at the University. Specific areas of responsibilities are outlined below:

Anthony Dangerfield, Head of the International Student Office

Anthony is responsible for managing the International Student Office and leads on a number of projects related to international student matters. Anthony is also Secretary to the Standing Committee on Student Mobility, responsible for ensuring a strategic approach to student mobility and developing mobility opportunities for students.

Lucy Gager, Lead International Student Advisor

Lucy is responsible for the team's visa advisory service which provides students and their dependants with Tier 4 and related immigration advice. As part of this remit, she administers the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur scheme. Lucy is also responsible for overseeing the University's Erasmus+ Charter and attends the Standing Committee on Student Mobility to advise and provide updates on Erasmus+ activity. She administers the Smuts Memorial Fund and supports the IARU Global Summer Programme.

Maria Wylie, Lead International Student Administrator (Immigration Compliance)

Maria leads on the implementation of institutional policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Home Office sponsor licence responsibilities. This includes advising both staff and prospective and current students on Tier 4 compliance as well as overseeing the confirmation of sponsorship, monitoring and reporting, internal audits and managing the distribution of BRPs to students.

Rosie Bell, International Student Administrator

Rosie is the University’s Erasmus Co-ordinator which includes having responsibility for administering inter-institutional agreements under Erasmus+ and providing support to students coming to study at Cambridge as part of the programme. Rosie also provides support to visiting students, advising both colleagues and prospective students on related immigration matters, and administers the Kurt-Hahn Trust Scholarship.

Catherine Padbury, International Student Administrator

Catherine provides Tier 4 immigration advice to students and supports the administration of compliance under the University's Tier 4 sponsor licence. She also administers the Start-up visa route and is responsible for the team's social media communications. 

Charlotte Taylor, International Student Administrator

Charlotte supports out-going Cambridge students participating in the Erasmus+ programme, adminsters the Doctorate Extension Scheme and provides Tier 4 immigration advice. 

Frida Nycander, International Student Administrator

Frida supports student immigration compliance, providing guidance to staff and students on Tier 4 sponsorship and related responsibilities including ATAS. She issues CAS for undergraduate study, certain postgraduate courses and to current students. 

Student Operations Administrators

At certain times of the year the International Student Office is joined by Sian Thompson, Steven Hewer or Sophia Barker who are Student Operations Administrators. They provide administrative support to a range of activities undertaken by the team.
